book review // seasons of the heart series

book review __

Most of y'all have probably heard of Janette Oke before. She's a really popular author and I've read most of her books, but the "Seasons of the Heart" series will always be my all time favorite books she has written!!!

You know with some series you really enjoy the first book but you cant read the books that follow it too soon? Well, that will not happen with this series. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this series! I think I've read each book at least two times through and I enjoyed it just as much the second time as I did the first!!

my review

Ok. I really liked these books. I liked the time period that it took place in a lot!!! Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong generation. haha!! :D
The only thing I didn't like about the first book was Aunt Lou was too perfect in my opinion. I don't think I'll ever meet a girl who would be like her. Like I said earlier, she was too perfect.
Also, the threshing crew part went on a little too long. I enjoyed it when it first started, but it went on a long time, and it got kinda boring.
Overall, it was a really good series!!
I recommend this series for all ages. I really enjoyed it!!

Barbara Covington has one more chance to save her daughter from a devastating addiction, by staging an intervention. But when eighteen-year-old Emily disappears on the way to drug treatment—and her interventionist is found dead at the airport—Barbara enters her darkest nightmare of all. Barbara and her son set out to find Emily before Detective Kent Harlan arrests her for a crime he is sure she committed. Fearing for Emily’s life, Barbara maintains her daughter’s innocence. But does she really know her anymore? Meanwhile, Kent has questions of his own. His gut tells him that this is a case of an addict killing for drugs, but as he gets to know Barbara, he begins to hope he’s wrong about Emily. The panic level rises as the mysteries intensify: Did Emily’s obsession with drugs lead her to commit murder—or is she another victim of a cold-blooded killer?

my review

I loved this book so much, I was sad when I thought it was a stand alone. But I looked into it and found out two other books follow it!!! You will never know how excited I was about that!!! :)
I don't know if there was any part in the book that I didn't like or I thought was boring! I think I loved everything about it! And the characters were fabulous!!
It had a pretty good representation of the gospel compared to most books I've read.

There are a few bloody scenes in the book, but it's nothing too gory, so I would recommend it for ages 14+. But that's just my recommended age.

This is a very clean read and I highly recommend it!

is God your spare tire?

Is God Your Spare Tire

Image Taken From Pinterest.

My Daddy preached a message a few weeks ago and he asked a question that I thought was really good. "Is God your spare tire?"

Every car has a spare tire in it, but most people don't  even know what their spare tire looks like. They only use it when its an emergency.

There are a lot of people who say, "I don't need God's help." But right when there is something bad that happens, they start praying and start becoming really spiritual.
These kind of people are using God like a spare tire. They only pull Him out when they need Him.
They use Him until things get better again, and then they push Him away until the next bad thing that happens.

God loves to fellowship with His children, so we should love to fellowship with Him too. We should trust in God and give Him our steering wheel.

book review // the O'Malley series

DSC_3931

My friend Abigail asked me to do an O'Malley series book review today. I didn't want to disappoint her, so here it is! :)
By the way, today is Abigail's 18th birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABIGAIL!!!! :) <3

The First O'Malley series book I ever read was The Guardian and I LOVED it from the beginning! The only O'Malley series book at our local library was The Negotiator, so I read that one next. I began searching thrift stores and book stores for the rest of the books and very slowly I collected them. So now I have the whole series sitting on my bookshelf! :)
(P.S. The Negotiator is not pictured because my sister is borrowing it)

There is a prequel to the series called Danger in the Shadows, but I haven't read it yet. I would like too soon though! :)

#5 The Healer
Rachel O’Malley works disasters for a living. Her specialty? Helping children through trauma. When a school shooting rips through her community, she finds herself dealing with more than just grief among the children she is trying to help. One of them saw the shooting, and the gun is still missing.

#6 The Rescuer
Stephen O’Malley is a paramedic who has been rescuing people all his life. His friend Meghan is in trouble: Stolen jewels are turning up in interesting places, and she’s in the middle of it. Stephen is about to run into a night he will never forget—a kidnapping, a tornado, and a race to rescue Meghan.

I loved all six of these books.
My favorite books out of the series would definitely be The Negotiator and The Guardian! I love those two books!
My least favorite book in the series is The Truth Seeker. It was just a little slower than the others and the story line wasn't as good.

I love all of these books and definitely recommend them!!!
